GOALS
Jesse is committed to advocating for every student, every school.
Every student, every school means:
- An inclusive and high quality education by supporting policies, practices, and initiatives that ensure equitable access to education for all students, regardless of their background, abilities, or circumstances
- A safe, nurturing, and effective environment where every student can thrive by:
- Adopting truly inclusive policies that address the diverse needs of our students, including varied cultural, religious, socio-economic and ability backgrounds
- Creating a positive school culture that encourages kindness, empathy, cooperation, and accountability
- Defining hate speech and establishing processes to address it for all cultures and religions
- Collaboration and dialogue with parents & caregivers, educators, administrators, and the community to shape a brighter future for our schools by:
- Creating opportunities for robust dialogue with stakeholders on a variety of salient issues including curriculum, budget, special education, academic rigor, and more
- Ensuring that diverse perspectives are incorporated into the creation of the Public Schools of Brookline's mission and values, as well as the implementation of the District's Strategic Plan
- Listening and learning from the development and implementation of school improvement plans that address academic goals, student well-being, and community involvement
- Building a culture of environmental responsibility and sustainability
- Continue a focus on climate-saving processes across all school activities including recycling, composting, and transportation
- Reducing exposure to hazardous materials within the school environment including cleaning materials, school furniture, and interior building materials and ensure that safer building materials are utilized in new construction
